I am hoping someone can recommend an antenna set up. I am in Palo Alto, about 40 miles from San Francisco, so that I can get HDTV.


Also any suggestions for a standalone decoder. I know the DTC100 can and the DISH 6000 can, but I am not interested in satellite just yet so I am looking for a stand alone job.

Try the silver sensor indoor. There's a good chance it will work just fine in your location, and it beats getting up on the roof.


The RCA and Dish products are it. The RCA will work just fine without hooking up the Sat, Dish won't. Samsung is supposed to be making a STB that is OTA only, but I don't think its shipping, and last price I heard was as much as the RCA.


If you want to be really cheap (good idea with a raft of new products scheduled for last 2 qtrs), you might be able to find a used RCA DTC100.
