I don't have no contract with diretv. I am wondering what type of subsidy one is able to get out of directv retention group towards the purchase of a new hdtv tivo dvr, the hdtv tivo hr10 for people who don't have an existing contract.

If your not an existing customer, don't expect any discount, the whole point of retention is to keep people from leaving, D* invests a good amount of money when they sign new customers, they offer the discount to keep their investment going.


As a new customer, your best bet is find someone who's selling them for $899 now and go from there...
