What are some channels you would like to see go HD?

With many new HD networks launching every year, what channels would you like to see make it this round?

For me:

CNN (Wasn't this supposed to be HD a while ago?)

Turner Classic Movies (Ditto.)

TBS (not just for those in Atlanta, GA)

Comedy Central (One of my favorite networks ever)

Sci Fi (All the programs are made in HD anyway...)

USA (although a lot of its programs are on Universal HD, it would be nice to see this have its own HD channel)

Bravo (With the amount of original programming they have, it would be really weird to see this in SD for much longer)

CNN

HGTV

Speed Channel (if F1 ever goes HD)

Tennis Channel

and thats probably it.
I'll add a poll to this thread to make it easier.
Im hoping TCM goes HD. There were some rumors to that effect a while ago, but i havent heard anything lately. I did notice that the intros, titles are now letterboxed, so maybe they are getting ready for the transfer.
Turner Classic Movies should go hi def. HSN, TBN, PAX, TV Guide Channel and QVC should just go away.

BTW, taking the last five stations off of the analog tier would free up enough space for ESPN 2 HD, HDnet, HDnet Movies, Universal HD, TMC HD, HGTV, Food Channel HD, TCM HD, and two other hi def channels when they launch. Seems like quite a step up with very little loss.
USA, Sci-Fi, TBS, BBC America, HGTV

Cinemax (D*)

TNT-HD (true HD rather than stretch-o-vision)

It doesn't really matter. Comcast would not pick up any of them for at least 2 or 3 years after they go HD anyway. :(

Pretty much every channel that I watch is HD already other than my local RSN, Fox Sports Detroit...

All I want is better quality HD, I have every channel I need other than FSD (the mot important channel of all)...

I would easily pay a whole lot of cash at this point to have FSD in HD, to me its just totally unbelievable that they havent gone HD yet..Even more unbelievable that there isnt even any plan for it to go HD in the near future (not as far as I know)...
In rough order of preference:

Sci-Fi

FX

Comedy Central

Turner Classic Movies

USA

Bravo

BBC America (even decent SD would be an improvement, at least on D*)

Comcast SportsNet Chicago would be at the top if the list were exclusively for D*. It is already in HD (partially, at least) for Comcast subscribers, but not on D*.

FX

Fox News Channel

Exactly! Here in central NJ I would like to see the following go HD:

ESPN2, TNT, YES, SNY, MSG, NFL Channel, Universal HD.

What's that?... They're already HD?!
cartoon network

comedy central

sci-fi

cnn

turner classic movies
sci-fi

fx

cartoon network

msnbc/cnn

just for giggles I would like to see the real BBC
This might be a shock, but OLN-HD would be nice since my D* Center Ice package isn't showing *any* HD Hockey. I'm totally disgusted by it.
What do we know about current estimates and plans for these channels going HD?

Where is this type of news posted and updated anyway?

Is there an HD programming web page that gives you a clear HD channel overview, etc.

Sort of. These rumours are few and far between, so, no, we don't exactly know when these channels will go HD, we can just take educated guesses.

Take CNN, for example. It already produces many programs in HD, has an HD feed in its bureaus (at least in Washington), and yet, neglects to give the public an HD channel. This leads most to believe that that channel will be available in HDTV in the near future.

As for the NBC Universal O&O cable networks, I remember an executive stating that they were looking at launching these in HDTV when the time is right. Plus, NBC Universal is backhauling its production facilitites to HDTV MPEG-4 this summer.

As for channels such as Comedy Central, no one knows when these channels will go HD. Guesses as to when can be determined by the corporate attitude towards HDTV, and the channel's popularity and target demographic. (I can't wait to take Business & Marketing next year!)
