What benefits exactly would a 9" CRT owner get from an DVI(HDMI) Input board

Forgetting about the legitamacy of such a card what would be the overall benefits to a 9" CRT FP owner, is the DVI input that much improved over a RGBHV input?

The issue is when the HDCP flag is turned on you will not be watching RGBHV in hidef because full resolution via analog will be blocked

Its that simple. HD-DVD, and probably HD cable and HD Satellite will be not available in full resolution via analog.
Jim:

I understand fully about HDCP flag and analog down resolution via RGBHV, but other than that does a DVI input board offer any improvement currently as the HDCP flag is off over RGBHV input.

I think the improvement in PQ will depend on the quality of the DACs in the card. however in theory it should be better because it maintains the digital chain until the final run, resulting in lower degradation in the analague chain due to cable lenghts.

However I doubt whether the improvement will be a night vs day diff.
If you have 10 metres of RG59 or RG11 going to your projector, You will see an immediate improvement. In less ringing, no bright outlines around the images on the screen.

It should also look cleaner with less noise.

This is a subtle improvement and goes toward the last 5 percent.

But as Sheggsl said, it depnds on the quality of the DACS.
