I want to get a camcorder and I have the following, a desktop computer with 1.96 GB of virtual memory a Sony DVD rewritable drive and Adobe Premiere elements software. I would like to try HD but would settle for a good SD camcorder if the HD route is not feasible with the equipment I already have.
What camcorder would you recommend?

1.96 gb of virtual memory could be half a gig of ram, which is marginal at best.
you need to know what cpu the computer has, and whether or not your version of premiere elements will support avchd.
it sounds like you have a slow computer, but it might be fast enough to hdv.
