For Dish Network-

-HBOHD- a good portion of the material is in HD (albeit film transfers)

-SHOHD- getting better

-Demo Channel- nice demo 24/7- I believe it will be used for non-regular HD simulcasts (sporting events, CBS?)

I think Dish Network is the way to go; I don't have DirectTV, but my impression is they have limited (time-wise) HBOHD and one demo channel.

As far as OTA, both Dish and DTV are neck and neck now. Both the DTC-100 and the E*6000 give you the ability to pick up whatever local digital broadcasts are available (not sure what the situation is in SC).
