I know you guys always talk abou how d65 is the right colour temp for NTSC movies but i would like to know whats the go with PAL ,

Ive calibrated one of my ht1000 to d65 , but im not sure if i should use this for pal movies also.


can anyone help me with this ??

I would think D65 is the standard for everything. This gives the images its batural look. Unless Europeans eyes are calibrated differently.

D65 is correct for playing back your PAL material. You might want to get hold of DVE in R2 flavour to confirm that your system is behavng the same way with your 576 source discs as it does with your 480 ones.

Have you noticed a general rule in terms of PAL settings(contrast/brightness etc.) compared to NTSC, or is it completely different from projector to projector?

As long as your DVD player outputs 0IRE blacks on both NTSC and PAL (you have a setting for it in DVD player setup menu), there is nothing major to tinker with. Unless you have access to real calibrating equipment.
