Sorry if i've used the incorrect wording, I'm wondering which receivers allow HDMI signals to be passed through to the TV so it uses the TV speakers instead of the receiver.

In the budget range, is it only the Onkyo 607?

A lot of receivers can send HDMI audio to the TV. However, that creates problems as the player is then restricted to the TVs audio capabilities.

A recent crop of receivers has HDMI passthrough in standbye mode. On my receiver, when it's in standbye, it sends proper audio to the TV. I can either set it to fixed, such as my Tivo, or to last, which uses the last selected input.
