What direction facing due south is 61.5 on dish?

61.5 is to the SOUTHEAST . If you step outside, facing south, 61.5 will be off to your left.

I wasn't get it to register on my receivers. They are older receivers right now and it just wasn't adjusting. I unhooked my 4000 and brought a little tv outside with the 4000. I hooked them up directly and when I turned on everything it was already lined up with a reading of 89. I guess I was right on but it just wasn't registering on the receiver when it was going through the switch. Now all is set and ready to go for my new receivers. HD here we go.

You should consider parting with $10 for a sat locator. Easier than wagging a TV outside. You never know when the wind will knock your alignment off center.

It's kinda like car insurance, you hope you never need it.


It does take a little practice, but it's not hard at all to use one. I prefer the ones with both a beeper and a meter.
