Just kidding. As noted first by AVS member hardrock, Dishnetwork PPV channel is running some demo materials in between the shows. I captured the brief Discovery HD Theater clips. The demo materials are actually very old, I remember seen them when Dishnetwork just started their HD channels and got a first look at our local Fry's Electronics store. That was what nearly three years ago?


Anyone still remember the days Fry's carried Dishnetwork?


Anyway, if the Discovery HD demo is any indication, the picture quality will be stunning, but the bug is less than ideal. I hope the final version will be gray and transparent like everyone else's is.

Someone (can't remember who) who supposedly is actually designing the Discovery HD Theater bug posted on AVS recently. Our universal distaste for the Discovery bugs was made abundantly clear to him. Hopefully that feedback will result in an acceptable final design.

Did you happen to capture the scenes with the floating globe of water or the Jujyfruits? The backround music in these scenes put a smile on my face.

I don't recall seeing that. I might have missed it. I did not see 5 minutes of DiscoveryHD Theater demo as you did, most of them are very brief clips. There are several HBO and SHO boxing clips featuring Tyson and others but I don't think HBO or SHO ever put them on the channels.

That bug is WAY too close to the center of the picture. Those bugs need to be ALL THE WAY TO THE BOTTOM RIGHT or left!! DAMMIT!!

Average RPTVs have 5% overscan, so the bug will be at the corner.


Check out this site and you will see the similar buy locations on all other networks, except they are less intrusive.
