Hey all,

just recently picked up an x800xt agp card and I was curious about trying a few games on my sony hd rptv (don't have a dedicated htpc). I know in the past I've read about having to use powerstrip to tweak custom resolutions and timings and etc., etc., and I'm not really sure what of that I would need to do to just play a game or two on the ole tv. Can anyone point me in the right direction of where to start looking or is it as simple as just plugging in the (what looks like svideo->rgb) component cable adapter on my card and running component cables to my tv?

thanks!

If your tv has vga or dvi input, try that first.

If not, you can try the component dongle.

Just make sure you pick a resolution supported by your monitor if the ATI control panel applet doesn't do it for you all by itself. The support for hdtv is pretty good in the catalyst control panel for my x700pro, so presumably your x800xt will be at least as capable as my card.

Once you see the overscan, you'll understand why people use those other tools, but, nonetheless, it should still work for you.
