Long story short. I replaced the head unit (Sony Xplode GT450U) in my old Jeep Wrangler. Put in two Sony Xplode 4 way 4x6's up front and the VDP Sound bar overhead. Treble and mid range is fine, not much in the way of bass.


Picked up an Infinity Basslink for next to nothing on Flea Bay. No wiring comes with it.


What do I need to get to install this little thing in the Jeep?


I am going to unbolt the passenger seat, mount the sub and remount the seat. Reason being, that the Jeep is a soft top, and I want the sub hidden completely. The interior floors will be recoated in black roll on bedliner to help hide the sub.

Had the basslink T.


Get a power cable at least 8 gauge. Connect at battery positive. Run to basslink. Connect at +terminal


connect at least 8 gauge cable to basslink - power terminal run that cable to jeep chassis and connect with bolt through hole in chassis.


connect the deck's remote turn on wire (usually blue and white) with a small cable at least 22 gauge to the rem terminal on the basslink


Run a set of rca cables from the head unit rca outs to the rca inputs on the basslink.


Google the manual for the basslink if my instructions are confusing.

The HU has four RCA outs, the kit you showed only has two rca plugs.

basslink has 1 set of rca inputs.

Got it installed today - bought an amp install kit and wired the whole thing up this morning. Took me and the wife about 2.5 hours, which included tucking the wires away and making it look nice and neat.


I was impressed - the little thing puts out way more bass than I thought. Not bad for 80 bucks off of EBay.
