My Wife and I are possibly buying a home and it has a "Game Room" that I want to use as a HT and Music room. This room is on the second floor and it's size is about 21' X 17'. The entrance door is on the rear wall, right corner. Do ya'll think this size will do? Do any of you foresee any problems with this size room? We want two rows of seating and I don't think we could do another row as our speakers are Martin Logan Odyssey's and they need to be at least 3' away from the front wall so that brings the 21' down to 18' . Any thoughts, ideas and or advice is much appreciated!

Thank you,

John

Room seems decent to me. Since it is not in the basement (neither is mine) you will want to take some precautions. Insulation all around at minimum, double drywall, floating floor or 1" cement (double joist?).

I look at this thread with the how to links. Look at the screen viewing distance calculator and plug in some numbers from your where you envision your seats being.
