I think the 400:1 contrast ratio is probably a red flag for home theater. Why not get an L300U for about the same price, or a Z1 for a bit less?

hmmm.... it's 450:1 but I guess I see what you mean... is it really that bad such a contrast ratio to watch movies?


from what I hear the low resolution of the L300U is pretty bad to use with a computer to... that's why I'm looking for an XGA resolution projector.

I have a A10X and it makes great cheap HTPC projector. I must admit that the 450:1 contrast is lacking but it dosnt bother me all that much. It's funny becasue I find that the reflections from my white walls tend to have a huge effect on the contrast in bright sceens. So if your really interested in contrast make sure you have a black room. Basically if you need high contrast dont get this projector but for the price it does quite well.


Also HDTV looks quite good on this machine, the added resolution of XGA vs. SVGA is very noticable.
