Hi, I have the 16*9 elite 710. With digital signal I have black/gray bars on left/right sides. With HighDef signal the screen is filled. Is it just the opposite on a 4*3 HD set?? Digital signal fills the screen, but high def signal leaves bars on the tops and bottoms?? Thanks in aadvance, Tim.

4:3 TV

SD 16x9, (4:3 picture with added black bars to make a 16x9 picture), signal from HBO or OTA you will still have bars on the side and top, if you don't stretch the picture.

HD 16x9 you will just have bars on the top and bottom, if you don't distort the picture.

If memory serves when I had a 4:3 HDTV, the DTC100 can do a zoom of the 16x9 image to fill the 4:3 screen. I found this tremendously useful.
