Does it mean that cable companies will start selling STB's to consumers on July 1st or will MOTO and SA start selling direct to consumers starting on July 1st? It is a very interesting article.


I did more reading and it appears that a CableCard slot will be intergrated into all new STB's, however it isn't really that clear.

It is the FCC deadline for Cable Cos to seperate the on-screen guide/set-top tuning/ppv/on-demand/DVR boxes from the security device. Even on cable company owned S/A and Motorola boxes. Cablecard II for all.
