I will be getting an HD RPTV soon, probably a DLP, maybe Mits. I want to put a Mac in the rack to serve audio to the house system, and video to the RPTV (slide shows, etc). Thinking of an iMac G5, the new one--has anybody tried this yet? The iMac has a VGA port, but it isn't clear from the specs just what resolutions/rates will be available when the VGA is connected, so I'm seeking somebody who has actually tried it.
I know people use their G5s and G4s and powerbooks, the iMac is so new, I haven't heard anything about it. It's sweet tho, I wouldn't mind giving up my G4 tower to get one but I don't think I could give up my 23" HD studio display.
