i have a few AVI files (DV--uncompressed) that i've captured from a Sony DV camera thru Sonic Foundry Vegas 4 and was wondering what's the best MPEG2 encoding software to use?
i used the internal Vegas "render as" and it looks alright...i liked the speed--only took about an hour or so to do 45-50 minutes of video (AlthonXP 2600 w/ 1gb PC2700 ram).
i tried to use the old Ligos LSX 3.5 standalone client, but it didn't like the AVI--something about it not accepting the sound format.
i've tried TMPGEnc in the past, but from what i remember, it takes forever...quality was good though.
anyway, what encoders do u videophiles recommend? i would like to get the best quality possible as this is footage from my wedding/honeymoon last month.
thanks...sturmie
