Funny I was asking myself the same question. I did some research and found 1 more HDMI and possibly a different panel. I don't think it is worth the extra depending on how much the difference is. I do not know if one has better HDMI 1.2 or 1.3, but I do know most places I look it can be $600 more for the 82U
