Yesterday I was able to mount my projector. Unfortunately I have not put my GrayHawk Microperf screen together yet (to keep it safe from current construction). All I had was a piece of sheetrock. The picture actually looked quite impressive (considering the surface).


Do any of you guys know or have a good guess as to what kind of gain unfinished sheetrock has? I would like to figure out how much brighter or darker my .75 gain screen will be.

Dear Cameron.


Please be advised that your new GrayHawk will be closer to 0.9 gain.


For THX Micro Perforated sound screens we increased the translucent reflective optical coating to a gain of almost one. Then we perforate the screen with approximately 30,000 holes per square foot and leave about 10 percent of the screen surface on the floor. The net reflectivity is .9


As for the gain of unfinished drywall???? I have noticed that some drywall is darker than others.

Thanks Don!!! Wow I didn't know that you guys increased the gain for the microperffed screens. Well theoretically that will bring me to 28 Ft Lamberts. Cool.
