"I have read about LCD panels not being able to keep up with panning scenes". This was a quote from Grant Smith.

I was just wondering if anyone could clarify this problem, as I dont' see it on my sharp XV-s55u

Usually it's a refresh problem where there are tearing in panning scenes if your HTPC refresh is set different than what your projector can handle. The top half of the screen lags the bottom by a millisecond during panning. Usually this is not a problem with Svideo or composite sources. I had tearing on my LCD VPL-CX1 at 75 Hz refresh on Geforce2 GTS Pro 64 MB DDR, but corrected this when I reduce refresh to 60 Hz on HTPC. This made perfect video panning.
