What is the US equivalent to Sony VW290ES?

VW290ES is the European model, there's no reviews yet
I'm far from deciding to buy one, but I'm discouraged from buying a JVC because of the vertical stripes issue
I have an older JVC now: Would I be very disappointed with the black levels from the Sony?

VPL-VW325ES in the US.

Nobody can tell you this.

Depends how much you care about black floor. Some people would be disappointed, and others wouldn't be.
Also depends on which model JVC you have.
X5000 (RS400 in the US)
In some cases, the VW325 will handle HDR better. The 400 will be brighter and have an advantage in native contrast. 400 also has dynamic iris and lens memory, so big advantage there. 400 will do a better job with SDR. 400 will need help with tone mapping of HDR. If using disc and have a Panasonic player, then 400 will do better with HDR. If streaming, 325 will do a better job with HDR.
