What is this Blue spot

1141 Views 4 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  sparky7
I have a new Epson 6030 ub, had it since late December. Last night at the end of a movie I noticed a distinct, small blue spot on the screen. It can only be seen on a sort of grayish background, it is not visible on a black background. Do I have a dead pixel (thought they were black)?

Thanks

Sounds more like a dust blob. This is a very common issue with projectors from Epson.
How small is the blue spot? I have experienced dust blobs in earlier Epson 720p . A typical blob the size of an orange. A few weeks ago my heart skipped a beat when I saw one dust blob (can only be seen in very dark background and you have to look for it) on my Epson 5010...but it went away two days later. I have 800 hours on my Epson...I doubt you have a dust blob on a new projector.

Also. I experienced the dust blob straight after removing the filter to clean it so maybe some dust may have went into the machine during this period. Next time i'll have something ready to place over the opening when changing filter.

try to make a cleaning for your machine, if no any improvement, it should be LCD panel issue, you should replace it by a new panel, it will be ok

i    think, at present, it just appear, not serious, so that make your TV can normally work more time, ordinarily, please keep it ventilation for better heat disipated.

I had two dust blobs on my new 5010 when I bought it. I noticed them before the hour counter started. Sent it back for another new one.
