I'm looking for a short throw lens, which I thought was synonymous with wide angle. There's an Isco on ebay; in the picture it says "wide angle" right on it, but the description (if indeed I found the same one at the Isco site) says its for long throw distances.

Here it is with pictures

Here's what looks like it on the Isco site
http://www.iscooptic.de/english/products/lcd.htm

The seller says the focal length is 4,5 / 75

If you go here
http://www.iscooptic.de/english/products/dbl/lcd_b.html

and scroll down, 75mm focal length lenses are listed for

the InFocus LP420 and Liesegang ddv 820

Noah,

If you're looking for the ISCO-1 or -2 that is talked about on these forums, the one that your url points to is not it.

The ISCO-1 and -2 are short fat things. They are both short throw lenses. If you have a limited depth and want a wide picture, the ISCO-2, (or -1 if it's cheap enough), are what you want.

Hope this helps!

Hi Phil,

I wish it were an Isco I/II at that price. But it's either a throw increaser or reducer; I'm hoping for the latter for use in my future RP installation.

Price of that lens new is 2000 Euro. However it's a wide angle lense - it doesn't change the throw ratio. Think what a wide angle lense does to a camera picture. I have no idea why someone would use a wide angle lense for a projector though...

Wide angle often seems to be syninomous with short throw, since the angle between the rays is greater.

If it did wide angle without increasing the vertical then it would be performing another neat trick that I think a few people would be interested in, esp at a 9.99 EBAY price http://www.avsforum.com/ubb/biggrin.gif !!!

This came from another thread where Noah had asked for a short throw lens and minutes before I had seen this on EBAY. Will it work ? I have no idea... Is it a cheap way of trying ? I think so...
