What is your displays highest resolution input?

OK. Re-reading some of the recent threads here about 1080p got me curious. How many of you guys, whom I would consider pretty much the enthusiasts and early adopters of HD technology, currently own or plan to own a 1080p set within the next 2-3months (holiday season). If you don’t currently own or plan to buy a 1080p set, just vote for the lower resolutions.

So here is a little poll. Within the next 2-3months, what is the highest resolution input that your home display setup will accept?

Edit: For the people answering 1080p via HDMI, can you also reply within the body of the thread if your 1080p set will also accept 1080p via VGA or Component as well?

Edit 2: For the sole purpose of this pole, if your set will accept both 720p and 1080i, please vote 720p as your highest input resolution for gaming purposes on the xbox 360. If you feel that 1080i gives you better picture quality on your set above 720p, then feel free to vote 1080i instead.

I own a 1080P set
As for me, the highest resolution input my HDTV set will take is 1080i. As much as I really want to upgrade to 1080p, I can't justify the $ for a 1080p set that is at least 60" within the next 2-3months.
Where is 768P. (Common 50" Plasma res)

My 32" lcd set is 768p as well! Which is pretty common as stated...
This is the dumb down version of a super accurate AVS poll Frank. ;)

Actually, thats part of the reason I made the topic highest res input as opposed to what is your displays native resolution as I know with this crowd, asking what NATIVE resolution of something with this crowd will require a poll with 100 options. :D

Now that I think about it, maybe this poll will be skewed as to what I was actually looking for since peope who have 1080p sets that accept VGA or component will more than also likely have sets that accept 1080p via HDMI. I'll make an edit to my post and ask the 1080p HDMI folks if their 1080p HDMI set also accepts 1080p via VGA or Component.
About seven weeks ago, my house was struck by lightning. Fortunately, the structure incurred no serious damage but lots of electronics were destroyed (expensive surge suppressors notwithstanding), including several 1080i displays and a Denon DVD 2910. State Farm Insurance paid off (after an on-site technican's report verifying the carnage) and I replaced the damaged units with a 56" Samsung 1080p DLP, a 42" Toshiba 1080p LCD and the Sammy Blu-Ray box. I'm quite happy with Blu-Ray, btw, but I did have the Denon repaired, just in case.

Lightening strikes can be a very bad thing, but in this case at least, it seems like I was struck by serendipity!
I've got a few 720P/1080i sets and PJ's but no 1080P yet. I'm going to be looking at getting a 1080P in the very near future though Dec or January likely.
Interesting. 6 of the 36votes so far are for 1080p (16%). That is much higher than I was originally anticipating. Lets see how this pans out when more people vote.

BTW: tsp533, welcome to AVS. And congrats on the new sets.
Note: The poll is asking “What is your displays highest resolution input?†not what is the native resolution of your display.
Well in that case what resolution is higher 720p or 1080i?

Oh yeah thats right
I have 3 displays and non e of them do 1080p. One has vga while another had DVI and my projector has HDMI.
480p of ED powah! ;)

I suppose I could use my Dell 2405 for a higher res, but dropping from my measly 42" to an even teenier 24" just won't do it. :)

Actually the ED plasmas look great , esp when pumping an HDsig into them/
I just purchased a 1080p, but the xbox is still on and probably will stay on the 720p set for now.
720p RPLCD here. coming from a 1080i RPCRT I think the 720p looks better.
