what kind of connection is this?

i just received a new light engine, to replace my old one. the old one connected to the control? board via dvi cable, the new one connects some other way. is it hdmi? can i buy a cable to adapt the two? i'll have some pics in a min. the tv is a samsung hln437w

It looks like an HDMI connector and if it is you can get an adapter for a few $ at radio shack.

thats what i thought to but i bought two different ones from bestbuy and neither fit...

Doesn't look to be hdmi to my eyes.

Given that a: the connector is different and b:it is rotated 90 degrees from the old one - I would say you have somehow got the wrong light engine.

Possible they made a change during the production run or your supplier sent the wrong piece.....I would give them a call first.
