ok so I have this new 32'' LCD, brand new 1280 by 720


true 720p i bought myseft a progrsive scan dvd player...


Ok now i just realised all movies are in 420p ??????


DAMM


what movies play at 720p without no expanding the image I mean true 720p


i don't want to strech nothing

DVDs are 720x480, nothing you can do about that. You can buy a DVD player that can upconvert the video to 720P which would match your native resolution better.

i see, so i was better off with a edtv ???

with has 820 by 500 somthing i think ?


much close to dvd's resolution no ?


i have no idea of my dvd player will upconvert damm it


thx for the input now i need to know if this player upconverts


ps: if i do upconvert will the quality be ...HD worthy ?

Your TV is already upconverting to it's native resolution, having the DVD player do it instead probably won't make much of a difference. If DVD watching is your primary concern and you don't intend to get HD programming, an ED set would probably be a better choice.


ps: DVD's are 480i, not 420p natively.
