This thread is related to the one about rising black levels on the F5300/F5350. I know that LCD TVs only have a few printed circuit boards (PCBs) in the back of the TV: stuff like the main board, power board, and t-con board. I have heard that Plasma TVs have many more. My question is exactly what boards are in the back of the Samsung Plasma TV and which of those affect things like picture quality (including black levels, calibration, etc.) and firmware.
I suspect firmware version 1027 on my PN51F5300AFXZA raised MLL from 0.004 fL to 0.006 fL and since installing an older version like 1017 (which is still on Samsung's website) doesn't work, I want to see if I can convince Samsung Support to replace whichever board which affects PQ/FW/etc. I know the part in question on LCD TVs is the main board, but I wonder if it's more complicated with Plasma TVs.
Basically, to reiterate what I'm asking is what parts are found under the back panel of a Samsung Plasma TV AND which of those directly affect various aspects of picture quality like black levels and calibration and of course firmware (as in where the firmware updates are applied and stored).
