What progressive DVD should I get to match the Toshiba 50H81?
I can't bear it anymore. I am seeing HDTV even in my dreams now. So I am getting a Toshiba 50H81, Dish 6000 and Starchoice. I also need a decent( not too expensive )progressive DVD player. Any suggestions?

There is a used Toshiba 5109 in the classifieds here at AVS.

Are you going to be watching R1 DVD's only? If so, then check out the SHOOTOUT II. It lists most of the current 480p DVD players and will tell you everything you need to know.
For ease of use, a Toshiba will mean you can stick with one remote without reprogramming or buying a universal.

We can Starchoice in the US through the grey market. I don't want to give out too much info in this forum.

Go with the Toshiba sd-9200. You cant go wrong with this unit. Its fantastic.

Although I have no hands-on experience yet, the Panasonic DVD-RP56 is probably one of the best values (if you can find one!). The Toshiba SD4700 and Panasonic DVD-RP61 are also great values (they add DVD-Audio capability, primarily), but they've been delayed to late September.
Matt, the remote that comes with the 50H81 will not control a DVD player (AFAIK), and the remote that comes with the DVD player will not control a TV.

That's odd, because I have had 3 Toshiba DVD players and all of the remotes could control Toshiba TV's.
