If it looks good to you that's the only thing that's really important.
Theoreticallly it would be better to be able to display 480p natively, fewer digital artifacts due to the fact that the 480p-540p conversion is done digitally. In practice this was more of an issue a couple of years ago when Toshiba first started doing this. There were some complaints about it at the time and Hitachi was said to do it better, but Toshiba's said to have improved since then.
Tosh sets excel at some other areas, most particularly stretch modes, color decoding, and de-interlacing, and are very highly regarded.
