I currently have Directv, and I have the HD Dish, but the receiver I have is SD.

I heard that they are going to MP4 or something in November.

What box should I get now? How does it work?

Should I wait? What box will I need? I was thinking about the HS10

Bottom line .... unless you live in one of the top 12 broadcast markets, this change won't impact you. Initially it's to give DirecTV additional capacity to provide local HD channels to those top 12 markets. The current HD channels and the rest of DirecTV's channels will remain in MPEG2 for at least a couple more years. Plus, once the change over matters to you, DirecTV will likely swap the old boxes and dishes for new ones.
