OK. Here's my situation:
I have a PS50C7000 (the USA equivalent is the PN50C8000). I also have 5 active shutter glasses that I bought separately after purchasing the TV last year. Due to a blunder by Samsung, I have been offered a full refund on the original purchase price of the TV.
So I figure I take the refund and upgrade to a 2011 model TV. The problem I have is, I haven't been keeping up with the latest reviews of this years models and I don't know what's hot and what's not. Furthermore, I haven't really used the 3D on my current model, so I'm undecided whether I should bother getting a 3D model this year. Instead I might go for a good 2D model, sell off the glasses and pocket the leftover. One thing is for certain though, I definitely want a ~50" replacement. I won't settle for anything much smaller than 50" and I don't want to go higher than 55". I also want something with equal or, preferably, better blacks than my current model.
I'm also indifferent when it comes to Plasma or LCD. My priorities for a 2D only display are (in order of importance):
1. Size
2. Black performance
3. Built-in WiFi
4. Power consumption
My priorities for a 3D display are (in order of importance):
1. Crosstalk (lack of)
2. Size
3. Black performance
4. Built-in WiFi
5. Power consumption
You'll notice that price is not a priority above. That is intentional. So if I was going to buy a 2D only set, what should I get? Similarly, if I was to consider a 2011 3D model, what should I get?
