What size of a screen??

I have found a good supplier for Mirrored Plexiglass, and a supplier for the Behr coatings to make my DIY screen out of. I have the ability to do all of the required work to mount multiple peices of 4'X8' sheets of mirrored plexi to make the screen...however I'm wondering how BIG is an optimal size for my screen?

The room is 14' wide by 24' deep. The Plexi is going to be on one of the 14' wide walls, and with my projector (an LP350...hoping to upgrade to one of the X2's (Z2s?) early next year) mounted at the very BACK of the room (approx 22 feet from the screen) I end up with a 10' wide by 7' tall viewing picture.

Is this TOO big? I can butt together 3 4x8 sheets of mirrored plexi and make the screen up to 8' by 12'...but I'm afraid that my picture quality may suffer from that distance, or that the tops of the heads of viewers in the front row may end up bieng 'in' the picture at the bottom. The projector is being mounted from the ceiling...8' 6" high, and in a seated position..the front row can be approximately 9' back from the viewing wall before their heads do not interfere in the bottom of the screen.

I have power and video drops at about 15' from the viewing wall, and have the ability to mount the projector there, but when I did a trial-run from that distance, the screen seemed quite small compared to the wall.

I would appreciate any thoughts or ideas about this. Thanks in advance.

where are you sitting and can you see SDE with your current projector?

i would say 100" is good enough for a medium grade projector. the better the projector the larger you can go.
Yeah, I would say that 10X7 is a little big depending on your projector source. That works out to 144 inches diagonal. I think the biggest I've heard about is 133" diagonally. Mine is 123" and I think it could go a little bigger, but over 133" I think I would lose too much light output to give it the bright punchy image.
