Guys, I have just bought this amp:

The Warrior IS600 is an excellent low cost 2U budget amplifier.

Outputs: Speakon, Jack and Binding Post Outputs.

Inputs: Jack and Phono.

Power Output Per Channel (4 Ohms): 300 Watts

Power Output Per Channel (8 Ohms): 180 Watts

Power Output Bridged (8 Ohms): 600 Watts

Being new to this sounds system thing, I wanna know what speakers would best go with this. I figure it should be something like 200-300 RMS @ 4ohm, 15" drivers with cones??? but I really have no idea...any thoughts?

Cheers, Adam

To make a recommendation, most folks here would need your budget, room size, typical use of speakers (music, movies, games), your music tastes, and more.

However, I could point out a speaker that would likely work well for you, if the budget fits.

I noticed you chose a pro amp, so for DJ work and the like a Mackie c300z would be a good choice. These run $480 each.

For home use, a more 'audiophile' type of choice would be an NHT Four Tower at $750 each. These like a bit of power so should go with an amp that delivers on the rated spec you mentioned.

Ben_Tech, cheers for the quick reply
Guess a budget would have helped.

Right, here is the rather sad truth, I have a lot of house parties in the summer, and have been rockin with some ****** active XXL 100Watt rms things I got off ebay. I bought this amp for 50 squid off ebay, and was thinking about the same budget for the speakers. Not really bothered about cosmetic damage and all that stuff, and its's only so we can have some bangin' reggae in my back garden

So, question was more on just the specs I should be looking at, as opposed to specific speakers

Speaks that I said sound okish?
