Heading out this afternoon to look at the 50 inch A10 and was wondering what stands people are choosing. Sony's seems to be a bit overpriced and Circuit City is having a sale but it's hard to decide based on small pictures in ads.

My wife didn't like the "high-tech" look of a steel frame with glass shelves, so I went with this.

I looked at Sauder's web site and they have a black stand that seems the right size for the 42" Sony. Item Number: 161155 (1155-465), Avg. Retail Price: $81.99. I'm going to check it out.

This is the stand I bought for my 50A10:

But, here are some others that made my short list while researching this issue:

Pricey but very nice looking corner stand:

And in line with another's suggestiong, I suggest checking out the Salamander line of stands - google Salamander TV Stand and check out their site.

Hope this helps,

Mitch

I couldn't find a stand that fit in our built-in space and also hold my Ascend center-channel, so... I just built one today! Just in time for the A10 to be delivered tomorrow!

I got this for my 42" A10 at CC, I think they have a larger model that should fit the 50". The Z-Line is very nice, if you like the high-tech look. Too bad I didn't know about standsandmounts.com, there's some nice stands in there with some wood tones that would have looked nicer in my room (I didn't see any at racksandstands.com that I really liked and didn't cost an arm & a leg). Oh well, I prefer to stare at the picture on the tv instead :D

I too have the Z-line stand and really like the way it looks with the Sony. All of my AV equipment is black too so when I watch a movie at night with the lights out everything blends in better into the background so all I get is the picture. Now the only thing that bothers me is all the little green power lights....black electical tape covers them up though. ;)

Keep in mind though black glass= frequent dusting which is good for all the equipment I guess. The Z-line pic doesnt really do it justice IMO. Whichever you get....make sure you ask for a discount on it...I got an extra 15% by asking about a package deal! BTW they do come larger I have a 60" I use with it.

Hello, I am also looking for a tv stand for my soon to be delivered Sony KDF-E50A10 but it has to be able to hold about 150 Lbs per shelf (bottom and middle shelves) to put my audio gear (trying to save space). Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

Couldn't bring myself to spend $300 for a stand for my 42a10 so I got the Sanus AFDVg for $100 with an employee discount. should look OK with my Energy e:XL-C2 center channel and Ahanix D4 HTPC case below it.

I got the TechCraft PTV48B for my 50A10. It's 48" wide and fits the TV perfectly. The finish is kind of like a piano black and it looks very nice. FYI, if you get this stand, there is a protective film covering the front legs and gable. I was a little thrown off at first, but after removing the film I was pleasantly surprised at how nice it looks.

You can find this stand at HH Gregg and Sears I think.

I have the z-line stand too, it looks awesome with my black a/v equipment, black paradigm speakers, and svs sub next too it.

I ended up getting the matching sony stand. The place I bought the tv had a deal where if you buy the tv you get 25% off the stand so I got it pretty cheap (well, cheap compared to the original price!) I really like the quality of this stand, but the feature that stands out the most is that the feet of the tv lock down into the stand and there is also a locking strap (like on a backpack) that locks into the back of the tv and prevents it from tipping. Overall, I'm glad I went with the sony stand.

Got the Sony stand for that very reason...Think the TV has much of the weight forward so it would be easy to knock over especially if you have one of those "center channel speaker shelves"... ( http://www.monstronix.com/product_in...ducts_id=14344 )

added to the top....

That rear hold down strap or something like it is a must.

Someone will find a source for the clip that plugs in to the back of the set..then you could make your own.
