What Tier does The Matrix deserve?

What tier is The Matrix?

What tier do you think The Matrix should be placed in? This poll is for The first Matrix only since all 3 films will obviously be graded individually.
Please vote only if you have seen the entire movie

Edit: I put a 30 day time limit on the poll before it closes

Based on all of the reviews (of course excluding IGN) this should be a tier 0. Although this is the wrong thread for it.

Reloaded and Revolutions should be graded the same.

I mean what tier they'll be placed in will obviously be on an individual basis. So if someone sees a problem with Reloaded it won't affect the tier placement of Revolutions. I'm gonna make two other polls one for Reloaded and on for Revolutions.

They were filmed together.

Either way you can hardly tell The Matrix is nearly 10 years old. Awesome amount of detail. Haven't had a chance to peep the other two yet.

So do you think there should be just one poll for both The Matrix Reloaded and Revolutions?

Absolutely, since the story doesn't play a part in PQ I would place them together.

That's a good idea.
Got done with the first movie. An EASY 5stars on audio and video. Amazing detail while preserving film grain to perfection. My hat off to Warner (hi CjPlay
) and MS with their VC-1 tools and Dolby for TruHD.

Cannot wait to watch the other two!

From your description, I had to choose tier 2, because I definitely see examples of compression errors in all three movies, especially 1 and 3, and fleetingly in 2. The majority of the movies I would put in tier 1.

I saw MANY more problems in 3 than 2. Probably because the type of background where I see the problems occur more in 3.
I expected more tier1 votes...but tier2? Now that's amazing
.

TIER 1-No visible compression

Couldn't vote for it and mean it.
I would place them in Tier 0...Warner did a very respectable job with these titles...PQ is excellent and AQ was quite impressive. I hope Warner continues bringing us transfers like this in the near future. No complaints here just kudos to Warner and Microsoft and HD DVD in general.

I think this looks better than when I saw it in the theater.

There is so much movement in the background, man there was some magic done with the compression. Hats off to Warner Bros.

I think it is one of the best looking films in high def.
Ooops, voted for the wrong one, I would put these at Tier 0. They are as good as King Kong.

I'd definitely like to know what ibglowin and eXgo are seeing for them to vote the way they did.

I made all the votes public just in case we got bombarded with jealous Blu-Ray owners who all agreed to vote Tier 4

I got my copies of this box-set yesterday and am happy to report it is a substantial improvement over the DVD versions of this film in terms of both PQ and AQ. However I did notice a fair amount of noise in the bright scenes. It reminded me of "The Usual Suspects" on Blu-ray in this regard. All in all solid Tier 1 titles IMO.

I guess you had a change of heart in one weeks time?

Tier 1 or Tier 0? Which one is it?
How long is this going to be around? I watched 1 & 2 not 3 yet...Don't want to vote untill then.

I saw 1 though you can see noticeable grain, but not distracting was tier 1, and 2 tier 0 solid with Aq to die for...Amazing transfers...I am hoping the third is quick as great.

Yeah, I did. I felt other then the very bright scenes, this was an excellent transfer, the best HD-DVD has produced thus far. In all of HD I would rank it just below The Pirates films and equal to Apocalypto.
