What to put behind screen?

250 Views 1 Reply 2 Participants Last post by  Dean McManis
I have finally decided on using a Da-lite, Da-mat, Da-snap. Now I need to decide what to put behind the screen. Should it be drywall painted black? A piece of smooth wood? What do people recommend.

How does the screen mount on the wall? Is it velcro glued on wall and then velcro on the frame of screen. And then just a matter of pushing together?

Jym,

For wall mounting there usually is an aluminum frame that is assembled and hung on the wall with brackets. Then the screen material is laced or snapped onto the frame so it's tight and wrinkle-free. (At least after the material settles in).

Some people buy screen material with a backing sewn on, some paint the back wall black to reduce reflections. I used a felt backing material for my screen and it worked out well.
