Hi all.

This might be a bit OT but I hope you could answer this.

I just have this wild idea about starting a cable / satellite channel.

I know it's not a small task but at least I have to check if it's possible or not.

So, what would it take (hardware) to be able to send video feeds (cable and satellite) both HDTV and normal.

Does anyone know any sites with good info about "TV network building" http://www.avsforum.com/ubb/biggrin.gif ?

You would take some satellite recievers, transmitters, playback equipment (mpg2 server or tape), lots of switchboards.... Personally, I dont think it's hard... it just costs a lot!

I know sony, panasonic, jvc all have some switching and video equipment.. I still havent heard of an HD TVRO, so that might be the tough part... So HD material is hard.. hey, you could just buy an HD cam and make your own material! =)

Hmm, took a quick look at Sony's equipment.

Quite expensive, the pricerange was expected but it's a lot of money.

Well I guess I have to catch up some reading to see what I need.
