I just got my 507 & it has one stuck mirror. I assume this is common because I returned a 467 for a bigger screen & the 46 had one stuck mirror as well. Whats Samsung's policy on this? If they fix it do I risk ruining the set?(I hear after service on some sets the PQ is worse). I on the fence on this because the stuck mirror isnt in the center of the screen, but its not near the edge either. I guess, no that I know that its there its starting to bug me

Isn't there an insert that talks about it? I heard they started including that with newer sets. We know that people have had sets replaced with as few as one bad mirror, but the policy probably won't last.

Samsung covers it...


But if you bought it from a good dealer.... It might be easier for the dealer to order you another one and just have it swapped for a new one.

So far, I haven't read any reports of Samsung refusing to replace the light engine for this reason. It doesn't seem to me that there have been a lot of stuck mirror reported in this forum.


I'm surprised you found two in a row. In all the DLP sets I've looked at in the last ten months, I just saw my first one a few weeks ago. I haven't been looking for them so I probably missed a few.

If you go through Samsung, they will probably replace the light engine. Or if you ask and get lucky, they might replace the set.
