I have a 42" GW3, and all I use the DVD player for is watching regular, store bought movies. So I would like to spend my money to make that feature shine, not on DVD audio, DIVX, and such. It's hooked up through component inputs, and I'm not looking to spend the money for a up-scaling player just now, so it doesn't need to have DVI.

What players would you recommend? I just bought the last floor model of a Denon DVD-910, but it seems to have an audio problem where the sound cuts out ruffly every 15 minutes for just a second (hooked up through the non-optical digital port.)

Anyway, I would be happy keeping it if it worked right, but are there other good choices? Or should I look for another 910?

By the way, the 910 was bought for about $140. I'm not looking to spend hundreds and hundreds. Around two hundred would be ok, but if the picture is good, less is always better! :)

thanks!

I would recommend picking a few players that rate highly on the Secrets website (there are many low cost options). Then buy 1 or more from a store with a good return policy. Try each player for at least a weekend and try to watch the same or similar movies. Keep the one that suits your display and taste in movies.

I tried the following: Samsung HD931->Pio Elite DV-45a->Denon 2900 (keeper). Good luck...
