I'm looking to buy a new HDTV monitor for my xbox gaming, TV, DVD, and PC needs...What is the best way to go about this?....should i get an HDTV Monitor, or get a TV and monitor seperate..please help...my price range is also about $1000 and I have a TV tuner for my computer if that matters at all, and i have top end PC.

Thanks so much in advance for any help what so ever...! :)

if you are planning to surf the internet or write word docs on your TV

I would suggest at least looking at a high resolution progressive scan TV

which will more than likely mean another technology other than CRT

CRTs work fine with PCs for video and pictures but are horrible for surfing the web

1080i flickers which will give you a headache & is much too small to read and 480p makes everything much too large

I do have a PC connected to my HDTV but it is for HDTV recorder, PVR, and upscaling DVDs no surfing the internet

and there are no consumer 720p CRTs

more than likely you will be looking at flat panel LCDs in your price range

EDIT: I completely forget when posting this but you can also run 960x540p at 1080i timing and it should be fine for web surfing and should

is there any reason you do not want a TV with an ATSC tuner

the Sony Super Fine Pitch TVs are usually some of the best HDTVs but come with an ATSC tuner
