Whats the best new soundbar to buy?

I want to replace my old Yamaha YSP-5100 that Ive had in the bedroom for years. In its day it was regarded as the best out there but I have never been inlove with it. I find Im always fiddling with the audio especially speach I find difficult to understand. Bass is good but it seems to me thats the problem, there is too much bass in dialog. Also I can never seem to balance the dialog to the background music in films, it over powers the dialog. Even trying to lower the centre channel doesnt help.

Is there anything out there today that would kill my YSP-5100?
Im sure the tec has improved today!

I would look at soundbars that fit decor and have some bass. I like my old focal dimension soundbar which I just sit my tv on top of where soundbar with sub lays flat on bedroom dresser. gotta find something that works for you.
