Other than 20w/channel extra power (which perhaps is not that significant) and more input/output connections, vsx-82txs also has video scaler which upscales low resolution video to 480p/720p/1080i.


Vsx-82txs has one additional HDMI input (total 3), which can be handy too.

vsx-82txs has 3 zones compared to 2 zones on vsx-81txv.
