The TH-42PHD8UK is definately the newer model so don't look at the 7UY. The price difference would probably be due to the new manufacturing process. Same applies to comparing the price of the TH-65PHD7UY to the TH-65PHD8UK.

What's the difference?
Sorry if this is a stupid question, but what is the difference between the Panasonic TH-42PHD8UX and the TH-42PHD7UY? I had originally thought that the 8UX is the newer model, but the 7UY seems to cost more
