On my plasma there is a function in the menu that provides a white mask over the entire viewing surface. Once I invoke the white mask, it is very easy to see red (green & blue not igniting), blue (red & green not igniting), green (blue & red not igniting), black (nothin' firing) pixels.

If there is a similar function on the HS-10, I haven't been able to find it. If not, how do you find bad pixels?

I believe if you put it on a blank input (Lamp is on but its a black screen) Or use a pic mute button. Once you do that, slowly focus and defocus all the way. That should reveal any dead pixels. At least this works on it's cousin the VW10ht. Hope you dont find any. If you do find blue ones they are usually no problem.
