Whats the Trick for HDMI from PC Video Card?

280 Views 1 Reply 2 Participants Last post by  Nomad_33FW_58FS
I recently purchased the Sanyo 32 HDTV with the intent of connecting to my XP Media Center PC. The PC video is Nvidia FX 5200, with drivers at 61.77 level, with vga, svideo and DVI outputs.

I ordered a single link DVI to HDMI cable from Rameletronics, and after installation to the Computer and HDTV, I am having no success.

When I run the Nvidia advanced settings, it detects a digital display, but after repeated attempts to use for dispaly I am still not having any luck. What am I missing here? Is the cable the problem and should it be dual link instead of single link?

When the HDTV is switched to HDMI, the NO SIGNAL message display. YOur assistance would be greatly appreciated if you have a solution or idea for me. Thanks !!!!

You might want to post this in the HTPC section. I haven't looked at the specs of your TV, but can it take a 720P signal? Most cant, and your computer is putting out a progressive scan signal. You will have to use something like powerstrip to change it to a 1080i signal (or equivalent). Your text will not be crisp though.
