What's wrong with my Sony HS51?

305 Views 2 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  udoknow
Ok, I received my HS51 today, plugged it in, attached the component cables, fired up a DVD, and... there's no blue in the image. I adjusted the cable, tried different cables, switched DVD players, adjusted settings... still just a red-only picture.

What's up with this, any ideas? I tried the S-Video and regular old RCA video input, and both work just fine. The problem seems to be only with component input (I have not tried the HDMI yet). I suspect a problem with the blue component input on the PJ, but I'm dreading having to send this thing in to the service center.

Has anyone had (and corrected) this problem? Thanks for the help.

I had similar problem once with a different projector - and the cure was to make sure that the DVD player was set to output progressive scan on the component rather than interlaced.
