The main new feature of the XBR450 over the XBR400 is 3:2 reverse pulldown. My understanding of this is that it applies to 24 fps (usually film) sources when de-interlacing them. My question is: since the Sony's "line doubler" (DRC) does not produce 480p but 960i (still interlaced), how can you have reverse 3:2 without de-interlacing? Or does it only kick-in when watching 480p sources (i.e. from a progressive DVD player)?
