Does Sony, Mitsubishi, HP, Samsung, Pioneer and others have anything coming out this summer or is it the fall when we can look forward to new HDTVs?

Samsung will be offering their new LED based DLP within the next 60 days. The success of this unit may change the face of all future DLP's.
I sure hope enough people realize the LED advantages. The color will probably be a bit better, and no rainbows.. But then again, how many people really notice rainbows in the real world?

I also wonder how many people will notice bulb life. That's not something that most people probably realize happens either yet.

Anyway, I have my pre-order for the 5679. I just hope like crazy that it ships when TVA says it will, May 22.

Something appears to be up (at least with Samsung) as *all* their non-LED DLPs (especially the HL-Rs) took a major shot in the *pricetag*. They are priced more like their traditional RPTV relations, as opposed to plasmas (in short, less than LCDs). Whoever thought I'd see *any* TV (especially one with a 46" screen) that supports HD, CableCard, and hangs on a wall for an MSRP under $2,500, let alone several of them? (Samsung also has the HL-R5067W for not much more; affordable, but it takes up too much WALL!)

What is the *smallest* planned LED DLP set? (Most of the convo seems to focus on the larger 56"+ LED models; however, some of us have to look smaller due to room or wall size, not pricing, constraints.)
mitsubishi has a laser type hdtv supposedly in the works but not for this year.

It's a DLP variant, and it *is* scheduled for 2006. In fact, the new models will replace their existing DLPs larger than 61".

They'll be out the end of 2007 if Mitsubishi can stay on schedule.
