Any idea when the next sale will be? I think the last one was in November or December...and it was something like 20% off? I believe DDD does is a few times a year...

Any info appreciated. :)

DDD sales are held once or twice a year. Last one was in November, 2004, so next one probably will be toward the middle or end of this year.

There hasn't really been enough time to establish a trend, but the last 3 DDD 20% sales were around 12/15/03, 6/21/04, and 11/18/04. So maybe around May or June would be the best guess.

i just spoke to one of the CRs yesterday.
IF there is another sale, it will be the end of June.

their profit margins are miniscule as it is, and it probably didn't help matters that i was calling to cancel an order and then asking when the next 20% off sale would be.

Guess I'm going to have to pay full price for the rest of

"ROUGHNECKS-STARSHIP TROOPERS CHRONICLES" They are very well done. I burned though 2 campaigns in no time

Columbia House has all of them, including Trackers.

Considering the disaster with the last one I doubt I'll even bother entertaining another order attempt. Four of the seven days were with their servers not responding, with their servers simply timing out, etc. By the time they did something about I had to start over during the middle of the work week and in the end had but two days to 'start over'.

Maybe when they get serious I will get just as serious. I emailed them over that last fiasco asking if I could get a day or two extension and that email was simply ignored--which only further served for me to ignore buying from them.

Yeah, it can be frustrating sometimes, but there are ways to make it easier. One thing I do it to use DVDPricesearch.com to find the titles I'm looking for first, make up a list in Excel, and then place my order all at once. Believe me, it goes a hundred times faster this way!

Part of the problem is that too many people clog the bandwidth by either searching on the DDD site or by placing several small separate orders over the course of the week. (I realize that is their prerogative as a customer, but it sure doesn't help the common good. Also, it screws DDD in the shipping charges when you do that, not much of an incentive to continue free shipping for them in the long run.):)

Never had a problem with DDD. I'm a nite person and ordering at 2AM really speed-things up. Plus 20% off on a large order helps out my bottom line

srgilbert, I think you are right. I had a list, a DDD wishlist, but something went ary. I actually was planning a +50 title order (yessir, I biggie), but after the efforts it were done in vain I lost any enthusiam.

DDD knew they had problems. They could have offered to extend the period due to those problems, but I guess whatever reason they felt it wasn't worth it to them (probably more business than they wanted, really).

In the last sale I had a lengthy shopping cart list built up. Then it dissappeared. Then it reappeared...

I still got to "save $100"! ;)

I'm finding that buying preorders/Criterions from DVD Planet to be nearly as cheap, though.

I understand, and sympathize with, the problems some of you have had with DDD, their sales are still my primary buying 'tool'. I'm on their email list, and I get immediate notice of their sales. I place my order immediately on getting that notice, and have had no problems. By the way, I posted on this board immediately after I got the notice of the last sale, and will do so again with the next one.
